I'll be the first to admit I LOVE using hot tools to style my hair.
However, whether you use a hair straightener, curling wand, or whatever your fav hot tool is, these can do some serious damage to your hair!
Not only can applying heat cause your hair to look dry & dull, but it can cause unwanted hair damage and hair breakage.
But.... this doesn't mean you can't style your hair at all without hot tools.
There are soooo many amazing heatless hairstyles to achieve beautiful hairstyles that look like you used a curling want or blow dryer, without the heat & damage.
One of my top heatless hairstyles to achieve wavy curls is to use a heatless curler headband.
With wet hair, simply section your hair into two sections and wrap each section around either side of the headband and tie in place. Then, as your hair dries the headband will create effortlessly natural curls!
2. Use Heat Protectant
Heat protectant is essential if you are ever using any form of heat on your hair: straightening, blow drying, etc.
Without heat protectant, you are directly applying heat to style your hair which ultimately causes breakage and damage.

3. Use Silk (Pillowcases & Scrunchies)

Whether you use regular hair ties to put your hair up in a tight ponytail each day, or use regular cotton pillowcases, both can create friction and breakage of your hair.
Consider switching out your pillowcases for silk pillowcases. Not only will you protect your hair, but it can also help with your skin too.
Plus, consider using silk scrunchies instead of regular hair ties to not be as harsh and tight on your hair.
4. Don’t Wash Your Hair Every Single Day
Another top 10 hair care tips is you shouldn't be washing your hair each and every day.
Washing your hair daily will strip the natural oils from your hair, causing your hair to look dry and dull.
While you don't want to never wash your hair as it will look greasy, try to limit the number of times you wash your hair per week.
Depending on your exercise & personal lifestyle will determine inevitably when you decide to wash your hair. Yet, try to stick to only washing your hair about twice a week.
5. Choose Quality Hair Care Products
Quality hair products matter! There's a major difference between cheap shampoos and conditioners and high-end ones.
I personally LOVE Olaplex products, and have seen a huge difference in the look & feel of my hair.
While Olaplex products are splurge hair care items, they are truly worth every penny. This is because each product lasts a long time (I've had my Olaplex products for over a year & counting!).

Both Jojoba Oil and Argan Oil can help nourish your hair and promote hair growth.
Simply put a few drops of each oil in your hands and massage the oil into your hair. Allow the oils to absorb in your hair for at least 15-30 minutes, and then wash your hair off to rinse out the oils.
7. Trim Your Hair Regularly
Consider going to get your hair cut at least every 4 months or so. to remove any split ends.
This will help make your hair look and feel healthy without any split ends or obvious signs of breakage.
8. Let Your Hair Air Dry
As discussed earlier in this post, applying any form of heat to your hair is extremely damaging to your hair.
Therefore, rather than using a blow dryer to dry your hair, let your hair air dry naturally.
While it may take longer to dry, especially if you have really thick hair, in the long run its worth it, especially if you absolutely don't have to apply heat to your hair.

Be sure to thoroughly apply conditioner to the ends and lower half of your hair. This will help repair any breakage, promote hair growth, and overall make your hair feel soft & silky smooth.
10. Thoroughly Massage Your Shampoo into Your Scalp
Similarly, you should be massaging your shampoo into your scalp and more the top half of your head.
Shampoo is designed to remove oils and dirt buildup in your hair. Therefore, be sure to thoroughly massage and take your time working your shampoo into your hair and scalp.
