Self Care Hacks at Home
You need simple, small self-care hacks at home that are fast and affordable. There are soooo many fun and creative ways you can practice self care all within the comfort of your own home! ????
1. Take A Bubble Bath
There’s nothing like taking a bubble bath to ease your mind. The Honest Bubble Bath in Lavender smells super good and is the perfect way to unwind after a long day of school or work. It’s made with chamomile extract, aloe and other natural ingredients that smells like heaven. Sit back, relax, and indulge in a bath.
If you want to make your bubble bath ~extra~ fancy by reading or journaling, consider getting a bathtub tray. This way, you can easily catch up on your journaling or reading while you soak in your tub. This tray is great because it is adjustable to ensure it can fit on even the widest tubs. ????
2. Unplug From Your Phone
Do you ever feel like you need a break or mental reset from life? Because we definitely have lol. We are constantly consuming so much content on a daily basis. From the news to social media to those pictures your friend from high school just posted from Hawaii. All this content can have its perks; however, it can be overwhelming.
Not can social media be draining, but it can also be a huge time waster. Look at your phone’s screen time (if you have an iPhone: settings-> screen time -> see all activity for app by app time breakdown). This is a great way to know exactly where all your time is going. You may think you only spend maybe 1 hour a day on your phone. Yet, the average person spends about 5 to 6 hours per day just on their phone! Crazy, right?
Intentionally taking the time to unplug from your phone will allow you to have more time to accomplish your goals. How can you unplug from your phone? Consider:
- Deleting social media apps from your phone for a few days (or however long you feel comfortable with). This way you won’t be tempted to aimlessly scroll.
- Try shutting your phone all the way off and putting it in another room, especially if you are trying to complete a certain task.
- DON’T use your phone as an alarm clock. There are too many things that can go wrong here. 1) you can easily hit snooze. ???? 2) instantly you are tempted to scroll on your phone and look at all your notifications from the night before. Do you really want to be starting your day off by being on your phone for 30 minutes?
3. Clean And Organize Your Bedroom/Closet
There’s a saying that goes “messy room; messy mind”. If you struggle with being productive or feel like your mind is cluttered, consider cleaning your room. This will serve as a self care mental reset so you can truly focus on what’s important in your life.
It’s important everything has a place in your room. For instance, consider getting a jewelry box organizer so you can store all your jewelry all in one place. We LOVE a clear jewelry box because you can easily find the exact piece of jewelry you’re looking for. ????
Your closet is another place that’s worth organizing. Consider going through your clothes and carefully thinking about what clothes you actually wear, and what clothes you can donate/ get rid of.
If you’re anything like me, I LOVE shopping. But, sometimes I’ll wear a shirt once and then have it hanging in my closet for years. If you have clothes that you would like to get rid of, place them in a storage basket that you can place in your basement or corner of your room. You can also place extra blankets or sheets in this organizer. This helps get rid of all the unnecessary clothes/ clutter in your closet.
Even better, you can either choose to donate or resell your clothes online.
If you are looking to donate your clothes, consider donating to Goodwill or Salvation Army.
If you are looking to resell your clothes, consider using apps like Poshmark or Thredup so you can make a little money ????.
4. Make A “Fancy” Beverage
There’s nothing like treating yourself to a “fancy” beverage. You can go as all-out or not as you’d like. Consider putting your drink in a cute glass for fun. No matter if you make a snazzy cocktail, a new coffee recipe, or whatever you’re craving.
Making a healthy smoothie is another small self-care hack. We love using frozen fruit, protein powder, milk, and honey for a quick and easy smoothie that tastes AMAZING. We use the NutriBullet. It’s easy to clean, blends fast, and effectively mixes even the toughest ingredients.
Self-Care Beauty Hacks
These are some self-care beauty hacks that we are OBSESSED with. ???? Whether you need a small self-care moment for stressful times, need a little pick me up, or just want to treat yourself to look and feel your best… these are the top self-care beauty hacks to try!
5. Paint Your Nails
Treat yourself to painting your nails. ???? This is an easy beauty self care secret that you can easily do at home with the right products. We LOVE the Red Carpet Nail Polish Kit. The kit comes with everything you need for a clean, professional-looking manicure. It has a LED light, gel nail polish, gel polish remover, and more for a quality manicure that lasts.
We like using gel nail polish instead of regular polish because it lasts longer. Regular nail polish usually lasts only a few days (if you’re lucky!) before chipping. Meanwhile, gel polish can last up to two weeks! You just have to make sure you apply the gel polish carefully (and in thin layers) as if you paint over your skin, this makes it easy for the gel to peel off.

6. Get Your Hair Done
This is a more expensive self-care beauty hacks, but trust me, it’s worth every penny! ????
It’s fun going to get your hair done, even if you just get a blowout or a quick trim. If you’re feeling ~extra~ bold, consider going for a big chop ????♀️or coloring your hair.
When you think of getting your hair colored, you can go for a subtle balayage or highlights. Want something bolder?
Consider dying your hair platinum, pink, or whatever color best reflects your own style and personality. Just be sure you are taking proper care of your hair if you choose to go this route as bleaching your hair can be damaging. Limit the use of heat styling products. If you absolutely must use heat on your hair, use a high-quality heat protectant to prevent further damaging your hair. What’s the point of paying tons of $$$ to bleach your hair if it looks extremely dry and damaged??
We like using the Kenra Platinum Blow-Dry Spray if you do end up using heat to style your hair. It smells great (without being too overpowering), makes your hair look and feel silky smooth, and most importantly, protects your hair.
7. Wear A Face Mask
Want flawless, hydrated skin? Wearing a face mask is a great way to have clear, smooth skin while being a simple, small self-care hack. You can easily include this as part of your morning or night routine. This way, no matter how busy your day is, or how exhausted you are, you can easily throw on a face mask and unwind.
Plus, you get to pamper yourself with a face mask that smells good. It’s also fun to check out all the different types of face masks out there.

How To Stop Spiraling Thoughts
Overthinking and overanalyzing every little thing can be harmful and exhausting. We’ve found that how to stop spiral thoughts is by both handling the situation or distracting yourself to break the cycle of thinking. ???? Here are some effective self care secrets to stop overthinking and get sh*t done.
8. Listen To Your Go-To Playlist
Feeling down? Need to know how to stop spiraling thoughts? Make a go-to playlist filled with all of your favorite songs for those bad days or when you need a little pick-me-up.
The worst thing to do when caught in a toxic thinking cycle of rumination and self-doubt is to sit there with those thoughts. It can be hard to stop the cycle, but having a go-to playlist you can turn on when you aren’t feeling yourself helps stop that toxic cycle of thinking.
We LOVE Spotify because you can easily make a playlist with all your favorite songs. We recommend getting Spotify Premium. This way you don’t have any annoying ads.
Don’t have Spotify or want Spotify Premium? You can get one month of Spotify Premium for free and then just pay $10/month. If you are a college student, you can get Spotify Premium Student with Hulu and SHOWTIME for just $5/month!
9. Journal
Journaling is arguably one of the best ways on how to stop spiraling thoughts. This is because you are putting all the words in your head onto paper so you can stop ruminating about them. Even if you don’t have the need to write something down that you’ve been struggling with, journaling is still great to do daily. You can write about what happened to you that day, what you’re grateful for, and what you’re looking forward to. The best part is, a year from now when you look back at old journal entries, you get to look back and see how much you’ve grown and changed!
For freewriting and scribbling down all your thoughts on paper, we like to use a plain, lined notebook. This gives you the ability to quickly jot down what’s on your mind.
If you struggle to come up with ideas or inspiration to journal, we like the Five Minute Journal. It’s quick and easy and is a great thing to do as part of your morning ☀️ or nighttime ???? routine.
10. Make A To-Do List
It’s easy to get overwhelmed and anxious thinking about ALL the things you need to get done. You may quickly jot them down in a bunch of random places (i.e.the notes app on your phone, scraps of paper, etc), or simply just try and hope you remember to do said thing. But, both of these methods aren’t that effective and you very well might forget to do all the tasks you need to get done.
That’s why having a concrete to-do list is important. This way, you are able to have a specific place where you put down all the things you need to do. You won’t have to worry ever again about forgetting to do something.
A to-do list also gives you a rough idea of how much you need to get done and when it needs to be done. This allows you to prioritize all the time-sensitive tasks while keeping you accountable to complete all the other tasks you need to do.
Also, there’s nothing more satisfying than crossing off an important task off your list or placing a ✔️ next to all the tasks you got done that day.
If you get easily overwhelmed and want to know how to stop spiraling thoughts when it comes to completing tasks on time (and not procrastinating), then this small self-care hack is for you!
