*Best Beauty Self Care Ideas*
Skin Self Care
Skin self care is important to have glowing, clear skin. Below are some self care skin care routine ideas to help your skin feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
1. Face Mask
The first beauty self care ideas to try is wearing a face sheet mask. Face masks can help you achieve glowing, radiant skin. This is because face masks provide many benefits, including:
- Hydrating the skin.
- Removing grim/dirt on the skin.
- Cleaning clogged pores.
- Reducing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.
- Improving complexion/ clear skin.
- Brightening your face.
Therefore, the next time you want to easily treat yourself and your skin, try a face mask! There are also so many different scents and types to try. We LOVE the LAPCOS Pearl Sheet Mask. It's great to help both hydrate and clear your skin for refreshed, clean skin to showcase your beautiful self 🙂
2. Gua Sha/Jade Roller
Another self care skin care routine that helps your face look less puffy and inflamed is using a gua sha and/or jade roller. This has become a rather popular beauty self care ideas in recent years thanks to the effectiveness at depuffing the face. The actual practice of gua sha involves rubbing or scraping the gua sha tool in such a way to release unwanted tension and relax your face.
Done consistently, this face self care routine can provide many benefits, including:
- Relieve tension in your facial muscles.
- Reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Help with blood circulation.
The best part is, this is an affordable skin self care activity that you can do all in the comfort of your home. You can order a gua sha and jade roller set on Amazon for under $20!
Don't know how to use the gua sha? No worries, we've got you covered. This Insider article is a great resource that goes in-depth about the different sections of the gua sha and how to use it the right way on your face.
3. Face Scrub
Looking for a face self care routine to make your skin feel ~extra~ smooth. Using a face scrub is a great way to treat yourself all while helping to make your skin look and feel silky smooth. This is because a face scrub is a type of exfoliator that helps to gently remove dead skin cells on your skin. Over time, if you don't remove these dead skin cells, it can make your face look dry, patchy, and flaky.
Therefore, to help remove your dead skin cells and indulge in a scrub that smells heavenly, use a face scrub. We like the Era Organics Facial Scrub because it helps clean your skin while being a gentle, effective exfoliator. This scrub is also great for sensitive skin types.
It's important to note (with most exfoliators), you should only use 2-3 times per week. Otherwise, you may experience skin irritation and redness.
4. Lip Scrub
A lip scrub is another great self care beauty rituals must-try. When we think about exfoliators, many often think about exfoliating your face or body, but it's just as important to exfoliate your lips too. This is because dead skin cells on your lips also accumulate over time.
So, if you want smooth, hydrated lips, consider trying a lip scrub. Our personal favorite is the Burt's Bees Exfoliator. Treat yourself with the perfect pout with this lip scrub that will have your lips feeling nourished and effortlessly smooth.
Self Body Care
Self body care helps you look and feel your best. Here are some beauty self care products you should try. ️
5. Exfoliate Body
A self body care essential is exfoliating your body. Just like it's important to exfoliate your lips and face, your body also accumulates dead skin cells over time. Therefore, this leaves your skin looking dull, flaky, and dry. To help make your body look glowing and soft & smooth, consider trying a body scrub. This will help remove the excess dead skin throughout your body.
To use, simply apply in the shower throughout your body. Again, a common note to remember is to only exfoliate 2-3 times per week (NOT daily). This is because over exfoliating your skin will result in dry, red, irritated skin.
We are OBSESSED with the Tree Hut's body scrubs. They have soooo many scents and types of scrubs to make you look and feel your best. Our current favorite is the Tree Hut Scrub in Moroccan Rose. This type of body scrub has a subtle floral scent without being too overpowering. And, best of all, it helps your body feel silky smooth, hydrated, and glowy!
6. Treat Your Hair
How you treat your hair is important. Your hair can easily become dry, dull, and damaged, especially if you consistently color your hair or use hot styling tools consistently. This can leave your hair looking and feeling extremely dry and damaged. This can be frustrating, especially if you spend lots of $$$ to color your hair to look your best.
However, you don't have to suffer with dry, damaged hair forever. And, you also don't have to break the bank to have gorgeously soft and smooth hair. Consider using at-home treatments and hair oils to help strengthen and hydrate your hair.
We LOVE the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector. This is great for dry, damaged hair. Simply apply to damp hair, let sit for about 60-90 minutes (the instructions say at least 10 minutes, but we find better results over one hour), and wash off. This will leave your hair healthy and silky smooth. However, you should only use this once to twice a week for best results.
Another natural self care routine that we like doing with our hair is applying oils to your hair before you shower. Specifically, both Jojoba Oil and Argan Oil help hydrate the hair and also are great for your scalp. Simply put a few drops of each oil into your hands and massage throughout your scalp and down your hair. Then, leave in for at least 15 minutes and shower off the oils.
7. Try A New Hairstyle
If you want more of a tiny, detailed braid look, consider getting these tiny, clear elastics. These are great because you can make cute, intricate braids without having to use chunky, thick hair ties that take up too much of your hair.
Another easy hairstyle to spice up your ponytail, bun, or braid, is using a scrunchie. We are OBSESSED with scrunchies because not only do they look cute as an accessory on your arm, but they provide some style to any hairstyle. We like using silky scrunchies as they are less harsh and damaging to your hair.
Don't forget whenever you are using hot styling tools to use heat protectant to prevent hair damage. We recommend using the Kenra Platinum Blow-Dry Spray because it's effective at protecting your hair (& smells great!) without making your hair crunchy and stiff.
8. Apply Self Tan
Another great self body care idea is applying self tan. This is especially great because regular tanning outside or in a tanning bed can be extremely damaging to your skin. And, over time this can lead to early signs of aging, fine line & wrinkles, Sun spots, and overall make your skin look extremely dry.
However, I know it can be daunting to try a self tanner, especially if you've never self tanned before. But, don't let self tanning scare you! It's truly life changing and can keep your skin hydrated and tan without compromising your skin's health in the process.
After trying out many different self tanners over the years, we LOVE the Isle of Paradise tanning water the most. This self tan is extremely easy to apply and evenly distributes throughout your body, so you don't have to worry about uneven, tanning patches. And, this tan is noticeable without looking orange and unnatural. This formulate gives you a deep, natural tan that will make you truly look like you just came back from the beach.
9. Whiten Your Teeth
You should always be proud and confident in your smile. That's why if you are struggling to achieve a bright, radiant smile, consider using teeth whiteners ️ to enhance your smile.
Our personal favorite is the Crest 3D Whitestrips with LED light. This is an easy beauty self care ideas that you can easily apply the teeth whiteners and do another activity while they work their magic. Then, after at least 30 minutes of the teeth whiteners in, you can use the LED light to further enhance your bright, radiant smile 🙂
It's important to note that using teeth whiteners does make your teeth feel a bit sensitive after initial use/ day after.
10. Manicure Or Pedicure
We love self care beauty rituals because not only do they help you look and feel your best, but it's a great way to unwind and treat yourself. Painting your nails is a great way to relax and treat yourself. And, you don't need to go to a nail salon to have flawless nails. We LOVE the Red Carpet Gel Nail Kit because it gives you a beautiful manicure and pedicure that lasts.
Unlike regular nail polish that chips easily, gel nails last longer. You just have to ensure you are applying the gel polish on carefully (i.e. not overlapping on the surrounding skin) as otherwise your gel polish on your nails can easily peel off.
So... if you are looking to pamper yourself at home, painting your nails is a fun beauty self care ideas to try to relax & treat yourself.

11. Foot Peel, Foot Cream, & Fuzzy Socks
Your feet can take a lot of stress and beating throughout the day. Whether you are extremely active or are constantly on the move, it's inevitable your feet may not look and feel your best. And that's completely okay. We know what it's like to struggle with finding effective ways to hydrate and exfoliate our feet the right way.
The three methods to help remove dead skin while also replenishing and hydrating your feet is using a foot peel with foot cream & fuzzy socks!
A foot peel exfoliator helps remove the dead skin on the most rough and dry feet. It's truly insane how much dead skin you can remove with a fool peel. Afterwards, your feet will look and feel nice and smooth.
Then, we like using a foot cream like the Burt's Bees Foot Cream for added hydration to further nourish and moisturize your feet.
Finally, we like wearing fuzzy socks that are infused with aloe vera to further hydrate and nourish our feet. Also, wearing fuzzy socks is a fun way to treat your feet!
Natural Self Care Routine
Natural self care routine ideas is essential to self care. These are the beauty self care products you need to try to help you feel more relaxed and organized.
12. Clean Makeup Brushes
When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? A month ago, a year ago, never?! Cleaning your makeup brushes is an essential natural self care routine that will help reduce your breakouts on your face.
By not consistently cleaning your makeup brushes, over time the makeup and bacteria pile up on the brush bristles. Therefore, each time you use the makeup brush, you are exposing yourself to a potential breakout or infection... gross right!
We live such busy lives that it can be easy to forget to clean your makeup brushes. However, it's important to get into the routine of cleaning them at least once a month. You can do so by pouring some warm water in a mug with a tablespoon of dish soap and putting your makeup brush bristles face down in the solution. Then, after about 10-15 minutes, take the brushes out and scrub with a makeup brush scrubber pad. This pad works great at removing even the most stubborn makeup caked on the makeup brush. Then, let your brushes completely dry.
13. Organize Your Makeup Collection
Beauty self care ideas don't just have to involve beauty self care products that you apply. Organizing all your makeup is just as important. This is because not only will you know where all your makeup is, but you will be able to throw out any old makeup. That's right, makeup has expiration dates that vary from product to product.
Not sure when a particular makeup product expires? Check out this great resource by Healthline to learn all about makeup expiration dates. Some key products and expiration dates include:
- Mascara: 3-6 months.
- Foundation & Concealer: 12-18 months.
- Lip Gloss: 12-18 months.
When it comes to organizing your makeup collection, there are a variety of ways to do so. First, a makeup bag is a great portable way to carry your makeup, especially if you travel often. Also, if you like to lay out and see all your beauty products out in the open, consider getting a makeup organizer. Then, you can easily organize your makeup in this storage organizer and put on your vanity or dresser.
14. Take A Bubble Bath
Taking a bubble bath is yet another relaxing beauty self care ideas that you should make part of your natural self care routine. A bubble bath is great because you get to soak in the tub and get some time for yourself to unwind and reflect on your day.
Our personal favorite bubble bath product is the Honest Company Calm Bubble Bath. This is because it smells amazing and truly helps you unwind, especially after a long day.
15. Candle Or Essential Oils Diffuser
Last by not least, aromatherapy is a fantastic way to unwind & calm your mind. There are soooo many great ways to indulge your senses with aromatherapy. Our personal favorites are by lighting a candle or using a essential oils diffuser. Both are great forms of aromatherapy that you can start with some of the other beauty self care ideas above such as lighting a candle while taking a bubble bath or starting your essential oils diffuser while painting your nails.
We LOVE the Bath and Body Works Stress Relief candle (in Eucalyptus) just because it's subtle yet still smells amazing without being too overpowering.
